1867 (1 July) entire letter to Suez bearing Egypt 1866 first issue 1pi. claret horizontal pair tied by
“poste vice-reali egiziane/gedda” datestamp of 1 Aug. 1867 (wrong month slug) with another strike
repeated alongside, “poste vice-reali egiziane/suez” arrival of 6 July on reverse, vertical filing
fold well clear of the adhesives, fine and unique.

The most important cover of the Egyptian Post Office in Jeddah and
without doubt the “Crown Jewel” of Saudi Arabian Philately.

20k. orange and deep blue and 30k. green and crimson, used together on quintuple rate
1860 (1 Aug.) envelope from Wilejka (Poland) to Dziewietkowiczany via Slonim, both fine
examples cancelled by “36″ dotted numeral, matching very fine c.d.s. on reverse.

The only recorded combination of second issue 20k. and 30k.,
one of the most important  rarities of Russian philately.

This spectacular pair is widely regarded as one of the greatest 1849-50 Ceres issue
tete-beche rarities extant, with only four unused examples recorded. It has graced several
of the finest collections of classic French stamps ever formed. The inverted cliche comes
only from position 35 from the first plate used to print the 1Fr value.

2pi. black on green glazed paper, from the foot of the sheet with 4mm. margin and ornaments
complete on the other sides, tied by blue four line cachet to entire dated 19 March 1871 addressed
to Samos, some faults as always with this issue but by far the finest of the three recorded covers.
